BMW has introduced the updated 7 Series sedan, which has received one of the most extensive mid-cycle facelifts in the model’s history. The flagship has been equipped with Neue Klasse technologies, received a design update, and expanded its electric lineup. This is reported by the official BMW website.
Externally, the changes are noticeable at the front: the kidney grille has become narrower and features horizontal slats with illumination. The daytime running lights are positioned closer to it, while the main headlights have been moved to the lower part of the bumper. The rear end has received slimmer taillights and a new matte logo.
BMW 7 Series Design and Interior: Next-Generation Digital Panel
The interior now features the Panoramic iDrive system with projection across the entire width of the windshield and a central 17.9-inch display. For the first time, a 14.6-inch screen for the front passenger with access to video and games is installed as standard.
The rear 31.3-inch Theater Screen has become touch-sensitive, supports Zoom video calls, and features an HDMI input. The Bowers & Wilkins audio system is available in versions with 18 or 36 speakers.
The new electronic architecture has increased computing power by 20 times and allowed for a 30% reduction in wiring weight. The voice assistant integrates Alexa+.
BMW i7 Specifications: Next-Generation Batteries and Range
The electric versions have received sixth-generation batteries with increased energy density. Capacity has been increased to 112.5 kWh, and the range exceeds 563 km (350 miles).
Main versions:
- i7 xDrive60: 544 hp, 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) in 4.6 s
- Range over 563 km (350 miles), 10–80% charging in 28 min
- i7 xDrive50: 455 hp, 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) in 5.3 s
- All-wheel drive is standard
The gasoline-powered 740 and 740 xDrive modifications have received an updated 3.0-liter inline engine producing 400 hp. The 750e xDrive plug-in hybrid will appear in 2027.
The driver assistance system operates at Level 2 and has gained an eye-tracking function. The new version has abandoned Level 3 autonomous driving technologies.
Production will start in July 2026.
