The Bavarian brand has shown the style in which future flagship models will be executed. In this case, it is more about crossovers, but passenger cars older than the 5 series will also change in appearance from 2022. As for this concept, it is named BMW Concept XM and will go into production (with design changes, but not global ones) as early as next year.

In essence, the production BMW XM will become the second (in the brand’s history) original M model. The first model, let us recall, is the BMW M1, which did not have a ‘civilian’ donor. The new crossover will be the most powerful, the fastest, and the most expensive. It will compete with the Lamborghini Urus, Bentley Bentayga, etc.

Among the exterior features, of course, the enormous faceted nostrils, two-story optics, and protrusions with logos at the top of the glass (a tribute to the aforementioned M1) immediately catch the eye.

Inside, there is a signature BMW style with sporty elements and a high central tunnel. The rear row is a lounge area with a continuous sofa for two. As for the instrument cluster and dashboard design, they resemble the BMW iX.
At the moment, the characteristics of the BMW XM are not particularly disclosed, but there is information that the most powerful M crossover will receive a hybrid system (a gasoline turbo V8 engine supplemented by an electric motor) with a total power of 750 hp (1000 Nm). It is assumed that the flagship M crossover will be able to drive 80 kilometers on electric power. The price and sales start are still unknown.
