BMW Prepares a New M350 Model to Replace the M340i
BMW is preparing a replacement for the popular M340i model, which will be named the M350. This is part of the brand’s strategy to update the model nomenclature for a new era. The number “50” instead of “40” indicates an increase in power – the upgraded 3.0-liter turbocharged B58 engine is expected to produce around 420 hp.
The car will retain the classic CLAR platform, rear-wheel and all-wheel drive combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The design will incorporate Neue Klasse elements – slim headlights, narrower grilles, and an updated rear end with four exhaust pipes.
Updated Interior and Prospects
The M350’s interior will change radically – an innovative “Panoramic iDrive” panel with a wide display will appear instead of traditional instruments. Production of the new generation 3-Series, including the M350, will only begin at the end of 2026, so the official premiere is still a long way off.
These changes demonstrate how BMW balances tradition and innovation. The transition to a new model naming system is accompanied by technical improvements that bring the M350 closer to the performance of a full-fledged M3, while maintaining the practicality of everyday use. Particular attention should be paid to the updated interior, which could set a new standard for the entire brand’s lineup.
