BMW Motorrad has introduced a new electric scooter concept called the Vision CE, which will debut at the Munich Motor Show on September 8. This electric scooter is equipped with a seat and a safety frame, allowing riders to forgo a helmet and protective clothing while riding.
Design and Features
While such an idea sounds convincing, the design of the concept raises doubts, as it resembles a combination of the CE 04 model with a mobility scooter. The front section is executed in a rather classic style, with two square elements surrounding the rider.
The concept also features slim headlights, additional lighting on the frame, and a small windscreen. The tubular structure continues in the lower section, complemented by deflectors. BMW also offers the possibility of customizing the scooter, including a removable Bluetooth speaker, a transparent roof, and a rear luggage shelf.
Comfort and Safety
The driver sits on a unique seat with a backrest, headrest, and a seatbelt. Above the headrest is a metal mesh, which likely serves as additional protection.
Technology and Functionality
The cabin houses a large digital display and a classic steering mechanism. There are also pronounced footrests and a closed charging port.
BMW does not disclose details about the technical specifications but confirms that the concept is electric and has a self-balancing function that allows the vehicle to balance completely in place. The company notes that the Vision CE is designed to provide users with a sense of freedom and a carefree riding experience.
