Connection between the automotive industry and the Marvel Cinematic Universe
Audi, Acura, and Lexus were once part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Audi was especially memorable, appearing in the first “Iron Man” and many subsequent films. However, automotive collaborations eventually lost their former popularity, and the MCU itself began to experience difficult times due to a series of less successful films.
Anticipation for the new film
Recently, the situation has improved, and audiences are eagerly awaiting “Spider-Man: A Brand New Day”. The film releases on Friday, and Tom Holland returns to the role of the superhero. He is joined by Zendaya (his real-life wife) and Jacob Batalon, who plays Ned. The film also features Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk and John Bernthal as the Punisher.
BMW’s role in the plot
In addition to the stars, the BMW 5-Series and iX3 will appear in the film. The manufacturer stated that these models are “woven into the plot of the new film, allowing them to connect with a global audience.” Although details remain vague, the company emphasized that “the partnership underscores BMW’s commitment to combining innovation, technology, and cultural relevance.” Furthermore, the automotive brand noted that Spider-Man is one of the most popular superheroes in the world, and the film’s trailer garnered a billion views in four days.
Bernd Körber, a representative of BMW, added: “The launch of the Neue Klasse and the film ‘Spider-Man: A Brand New Day’ could not be more fitting. Both symbolize a bold new beginning and the confidence to shape what comes next.”
Animation and technology
In addition to the film, BMW’s compatible vehicles will feature Spider-Man-themed animation. The company also updated the iX3 Flow concept, which uses E Ink displays to transfer the superhero’s visual world onto the car’s exterior.
This partnership signals BMW’s return to active participation in media projects after a long hiatus. It also indicates Marvel’s attempt to revive audience interest through high-profile collaborations. For the automaker itself, it is an opportunity to attract the attention of a young audience that follows superhero films. At the same time, the release of “Spider-Man: A Brand New Day” could be an important test for the franchise, as previous MCU projects have not always received positive reviews. We hope that this film will not only showcase new cars but also restore the cinematic universe to its former glory.
