Brabus has introduced a new unique car, the Bodo
Brabus has officially unveiled its new model called the Bodo, created in honor of the brand’s founder, Bodo Buschmann. This car will be produced in a limited series — only 77 units worldwide.
The presentation took place at the FuoriConcorso event in Italy. This model represents a true departure from the usual Brabus style, as the idea for its creation was nurtured for almost two decades. The resulting Gran Turismo is likely based on the Aston Martin Vanquish, although its British roots are noticeable only upon closer inspection.
Exterior: a combination of styles and carbon fiber
The front of the car features an aggressive design that blends elements of the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 and the Ford Mustang RTR. It’s an unusual combination, but it works thanks to the massive radiator grille, complemented by two air intakes. You can also notice unique LED matrix headlights and a prominent splitter.
The carbon fiber body looks fantastic: a long hood, a sloping windshield that smoothly transitions into the roof. The car has a fixed panoramic glass roof and 21-inch wheels shod in specially developed Continental SportContact 7 Force tires. The braking system is carbon-ceramic, with discs measuring 16.1 inches (410 mm) at the front and 14.1 inches (360 mm) at the rear.
The rear of the car draws attention with twin exhaust tips and an active spoiler that rises for braking at speeds over 87 mph (140 km/h).
Bodo dimensions: length — 199.3 inches (5,062 mm), width — 79.8 inches (2,027 mm), height — 51.4 inches (1,305 mm). This is significantly larger than the Vanquish, which has a length of 191.1 inches (4,855 mm).
Interior: luxury and sportiness
The car’s cabin has a 2+2 layout, revealing its connection to Aston Martin. Most of the key elements are borrowed from the Vanquish, but Brabus has installed a new instrument panel with round air vents. The steering wheel has undergone minor changes, receiving carbon fiber inserts and a “B” logo.
The interior uses a combination of premium leather and carbon fiber. Designers have added Shadow Gray accents, special sill plates, and ergonomic seats with contour support. The car’s silhouette is embroidered on the seat backs.
Powertrain: V12 with 986 hp
Under the hood is a 5.2-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine that produces 986 horsepower (735 kW / 1,000 PS) and 885 lb-ft (1,200 Nm) of torque. This significantly surpasses the Vanquish’s figures of 824 hp (614 kW / 835 PS) and 737 lb-ft (1,000 Nm).
The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes exactly three seconds, and from 0 to 300 km/h in 23.9 seconds. The top speed is limited to 360 km/h.
The car features an aluminum monocoque and a dry weight of 1,774 kg. The suspension is double wishbone at the front and multi-link at the rear, developed in collaboration with KW. To prevent damage to the underbody, a front axle lift system raising the car by 25 mm is provided.
Equipment and price
The Brabus Bodo has a weight distribution of 50.2/49.8 and is equipped with modern driver assistance systems: automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, and traffic sign recognition.
The car’s price starts at 1,000,000 euros (approximately $1.16 million dollars). Each car comes with keys and a weekend bag made from the same leather as the interior. Located in the trunk is a “blockchain-based digital product passport” which ensures the verification of the car’s authenticity, ownership, and specifications.
The Brabus Bodo is not just another tuning project, but a full-fledged coachbuilt car that demonstrates the company’s ambition to go beyond the usual refinement of production models. Creating its own Gran Turismo with a unique design and a super-powerful V12 engine puts Brabus on par with exclusive manufacturers like Pagani or Bugatti. The limited edition of 77 units and a price of over a million euros make it not just a car, but a collector’s item and an investment. It is interesting that, despite using the Aston Martin Vanquish as a base, Brabus managed to create a car completely different in character and perception, which will undoubtedly become one of the most striking premieres of the year.
