by Brabus has presented its new masterpiece – the Brabus XL 800. This extreme off-roader is built on the basis of the Mercedes-AMG G 63, but its capabilities and appearance are a whole different level.
The XL 800 is not just another tuned “Gelik”. It received a completely new chassis with portal axles and adaptive suspension, developed by Brabus in Bottrop. A ground clearance of 470 mm allows it to fearlessly plunge into the toughest off-road conditions, making even hardcore jeeps shyly avert their eyes.
Under the hood is a 4.0-liter V8 with two Brabus turbochargers, producing 800 hp and 1000 Nm of torque. To achieve this power, the factory turbochargers were replaced, the engine control unit software was updated, and the boost pressure was increased to 1.6 bar. Acceleration to one hundred km/h takes only 4.6 seconds, and the top speed is limited to 210 km/h due to the aggressive off-road tires.
The XL 800 is easily recognizable on the outside by its signature Widestar widebody kit with carbon fiber parts, 22-inch Brabus Monoblock Z/HD wheels, a winch, additional roof lighting, and a spoiler. The highlight is the automatic running boards and hinges that allow the rear doors to open up to 90 degrees.
Interestingly, in Ukraine, similar exclusive G-Wagens have been created for several years now – and they are so impressive that they are even exported abroad. For example, here is a Ukrainian six-wheel Mercedes G65, made for the USA.
The price of the Brabus XL 800 has not been officially announced, but one can refer to the previous Brabus 800 4×4², which was estimated at 855 thousand euros.
