To be precise, the model’s name is Lada Riva Estate, as it was known in the UK. Tuning of the VAZ was carried out at the Hudson Speed Shop. The owner of the workshop, Tom Hudson, decided to buy a Lada by pure chance – he needed an old car for the RetroKings show.

The public appreciated the car, although it was in a deplorable condition. And then Tom promised to turn the Lada station wagon into a drift car within a year.

Now under the hood of the VAZ-2104 hides a Nissan CA18DET engine from the 200SX S13 coupe. New pistons and a turbocharger raised its power to more than 400 hp.

The Lada drift car also received reinforced springs and adjustable shock absorbers. New 15-inch wheels with Toyo T1R tires also appeared. The brakes, by the way, are original, although a hydraulic handbrake is installed.

The appearance of the VAZ-2104 was not touched by Tom Hudson. The interior practically remained unchanged, except for the Nardi steering wheel and racing instruments that appeared.
