Unusual SUV Didn’t Find a Buyer
A modified Ford Bronco Big Bend, put up for auction, failed to find a new owner. Its matte armored finish in Abyss Blue color sparked mixed opinions and reduced buyer interest. The vehicle received a suspension lift, 37-inch tires, and a plethora of LED lights.
Despite what it may seem, these are not computer-generated images or screenshots from video games. These are real photos of a wild 2025 Bronco that recently appeared at an auction in the USA with a very intriguing exterior finish.
Why Wasn’t the Vehicle Sold?
This Bronco, which, by the way, wasn’t sold, was heavily modified by SoFlo Customs. The most obvious difference from any other Bronco on the road is the matte armored coating in Abyss Blue. It looks crazy, and judging by some comments on the auction, it’s not particularly popular.
“I think the seller should be forced to keep it and live with his terrible decisions,” reads one of the most popular comments.
This sentiment reflects the eternal problem of modifying any vehicle. Loving how your build looks is one thing. Finding someone else willing to pay for that vision is quite another. That’s why returning a vehicle to stock condition before selling is often the smarter move.
What Other Changes Were Made?
Aside from the unusual exterior coating, this Bronco includes a 3.5-inch suspension lift kit, 20-inch Silver Apoc wheels, 37-inch tires, a front bumper with LED lights, Rough Country steel side steps, and new off-road lights mounted above the windshield. The audio system was also updated.
Additionally, Ford’s 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine was upgraded and is said to produce slightly more than the standard 275 hp and 315 lb-ft (427 Nm) of torque. Although a dyno test is not provided, the Cars & Bids listing mentions a Turbosmart Kompact blow-off valve and an Evolv performance chip.
You will undoubtedly notice that the interior of this Bronco is also quite different from a standard example, featuring dark brown and black marine-grade upholstery on the front and rear seats.
So, would you agree to live with the Abyss Blue armored coating and the rest of SoFlo’s modifications, or is this one of those builds best left with its first owner?
This case serves as a reminder that even the most expensive and creative modifications may not find a buyer if they are too niche. The SUV market, especially for iconic models like the Bronco, often favors more restrained options that are easily adaptable to one’s own needs. Despite its impressive appearance and technical enhancements, this vehicle became an example of how individual taste can clash with mass preferences, resulting in an unsuccessful auction.
