The company Bugatti, together with the jewelry manufacturer Jacob & Co, has presented a unique desk clock, the Calandre, which costs 240 thousand dollars and will be released in a limited edition of only 99 pieces. This is not just an accessory, but a true work of engineering art that combines the spirit of legendary hypercars and the subtle aesthetics of watchmaking.
The name Calandre (from French — ‘radiator grille’) refers to a signature design detail of classic Bugattis. It was this that became the inspiration for the clock’s design: the central part of the case is made of polished steel and resembles the horseshoe-shaped radiator grille of the Type 41 Royale models. A red faceted crystal with 288 facets is placed at the top, reflecting light no worse than a precious stone. The case is made of high-quality crystal from the French company Lalique — the very same brand that once adorned the interiors of pre-war Bugattis with luxurious glass inlays.

Inside the Calandre works a specially developed mechanism with the JCAM58 caliber, consisting of 189 components. The main highlight is the floating tourbillon, which rotates in a suspended position, maintaining accuracy even when the clock is placed vertically. The power reserve is 8 days, which is considered an extremely high indicator for a desk model. The entire mechanism is assembled by hand, with the same meticulousness as the engines of Bugatti hypercars.
This is not the first collaboration between the two brands. Bugatti and Jacob & Co began their partnership back in 2019, creating a series of highly complex wristwatches. But the Calandre is their first clock in a desk format and, at the same time, the most aesthetically refined project in the partnership.
With a price that exceeds the cost of a new Maybach, the Calandre is unlikely to end up on the desk of an average office worker. But for connoisseurs who value not only precision but also heritage, aesthetics, and technical refinement, this clock could become no less desirable than an exotic car with a sixteen-cylinder engine.
