The Chinese brand BYD announced a competitor to Ferrari and Lamborghini. And although it may seem funny to some, in reality, this brand is developing at an impressive pace, and last year, by the way, for the first time in history, it overtook Tesla in terms of electric car sales worldwide!

And now BYD has decided to try its hand in the supercar and hypercar segment. For this, the Chinese even created a separate sub-brand Yangwang and planned the creation of a separate dealer network that will sell premium models.

As for the novelty, the hypercar was named Yangwang U9. There is virtually no information about it yet, but it is known that it received the e4 powertrain design – it is the first mass-produced system in China with four traction electric motors.
According to preliminary data, the BYD hypercar will be able to accelerate to 100 km/h in less than 2 seconds, and the maximum speed will be about 300 km/h – for an electric car, this is a very impressive figure. The cost and start of sales are unknown.
