First Cadillac Celestiq Handed Over to Owner
Cadillac has finally introduced its flagship Celestiq electric vehicle by delivering the first production example to its owner. This event was the culmination of the brand’s multi-year effort to return to the ultra-luxury car segment. As far back as 2003, the company hinted at such ambitions by introducing the Sixteen concept, but it took nearly two decades for the idea to become a reality.
The manufacturer does not disclose details about the first owner but has published photos of the car in a brown color with a matching interior. Every Celestiq client gets the opportunity to create a unique configuration with the help of Cadillac designers.
Technical Features
The production version exceeded initial expectations: the 111-kilowatt battery provides a range of 488 km (303 miles), and acceleration to 96 km/h (60 mph) takes only 3.7 seconds. The car impresses with its dimensions – a length of over 5.5 meters, which is more than the full-size Escalade. The interior is particularly attention-grabbing with a massive 55-inch display, the Super Cruise system, and an audio system with 38 or 42 speakers.
Although the starting price was announced at $300,000, the actual cost of each example will vary significantly depending on the client’s individual wishes. Cadillac is betting on exclusivity – Celestiq production will be limited, which is meant to emphasize the model’s status.
