Special Version of the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing
The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is already a very special car, and now a special edition has been introduced for it that raises the bar even higher. It is called the Deep Ocean Package and is limited to just 200 units worldwide.
Each of these cars will receive a special blue paint color, blue interior trim elements, a significant amount of additional carbon fiber, but with absolutely zero additional power. And one more thing: this package will increase the car’s price by twenty-seven thousand dollars.
If there is an American sedan that truly doesn’t need extra power, it’s this one. Its fantastic 6.2-liter supercharged LT4 V8 engine, producing 668 horsepower and 659 lb-ft of torque, paired with either a six-speed manual or a ten-speed automatic transmission, is enough to make it stand out in any crowd.
The new Deep Ocean Package will simply allow it to stand out even more, even among other CT5-Vs.
What Exactly Do Buyers Get for $27,000?
The package, first spotted by the CadillacVNet community, includes a GM paint called Deep Ocean Tintcoat. This is entirely expected, given the package’s name, but the peculiarity is that until now, such a color was only available for the Optiq-V model. The interior also receives special trim.
Buyers get high-performance front bucket seats upholstered in semi-aniline leather with mini-perforation, special stitching, and visible carbon fiber seatbacks. These seats alone typically cost $8,090. Santorini Blue seat belts and blue-painted brake calipers add contrast, while several carbon fiber packages adorn the dashboard and trim.
Exterior updates continue with matte graphite 19-inch forged wheels, black mirror caps, black lug nuts, and glossy black Cadillac and model badges. Both carbon fiber packages (Carbon Fiber Package 1 and 2) are also included, which constitute a significant part of the additional cost.
Interestingly, Cadillac’s own price list suggests that part of this is more of a convenience bundle than pure cost. As commentators noted, if you select all these elements separately, their total cost would be approximately $24,960, which means that the paint color alone is valued at $2,035.
The question of whether exclusivity is worth almost $27,000 is left to the discretion of potential buyers. Clearly, Cadillac believes the answer is yes.
Such limited series often serve not only as a way to increase profit but also as a marketing tool to enhance brand image and create hype. For collectors and enthusiasts, the value may lie precisely in the uniqueness and the opportunity to own something that stands out even among other high-performance models. It remains to be seen how quickly these 200 cars will be sold out, which could be an indicator of the demand for luxurious but non-functional upgrades in the high-performance sedan segment.
