Official photos of the Ford Focus ST 2019 have been presented. The Ford hot hatch will be showcased in March at the Geneva Motor Show, and its sales will start in the summer.
The new Ford Focus ST has become noticeably more powerful than its predecessor. It features a 2.3-liter turbo engine from the senior Focus RS, developing 280 hp and 420 Nm. Acceleration to 100 km/h now takes less than 6 seconds.
An alternative is a 2.0-liter 190 hp turbo diesel with a torque of 400 Nm.
Interestingly, both versions are now available not only with a 6-speed manual transmission but also with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. The petrol Focus ST also received an electronic limited slip differential.
The Ford Focus ST 2019 has a steering setup that is 15% sharper, and the suspension springs are 20% stiffer at the front and 13% stiffer at the rear. Adaptive dampers are offered at an extra cost.
The front brakes have been increased in diameter to 330 mm, and the rear brakes to 302 mm.
The new Ford Focus ST can be distinguished by the signature wide grille, body kit, and roof spoiler. Also installed are 18-inch alloy wheels.
The interior features sporty Recaro seats and a steering wheel with a flattened rim. The trim includes Alcantara and carbon-fiber-like inserts.
The equipment list now includes Wi-Fi, a head-up display, parking autopilot, and adaptive cruise control.
