Four Porsche 911s worth nearly $1 million stolen through a wall

The police reported that criminals stole nearly a million dollars’ worth of Porsches on March 12.

Within hours of the crime, law enforcement already found the cars and arrested four suspects.

Officers say the men made a hole in a wall to access the cars.

Car theft is one thing, but it’s especially questionable under certain circumstances. The criminals in this story were obviously not very clever. They took high-profile cars, leaving behind trails of evidence and did not get far before officers caught up with them. Now, instead of enjoying the spoils of their crime south of the border, they will face serious prison time.

The incident occurred in El Paso, Texas, on March 12. Among the stolen cars are a 1971 Porsche 911, a 2014 Porsche 911, a 2007 Porsche 911 Turbo, and a 2024 Porsche 911. Clearly, these cars attract attention almost anywhere they go. This is likely even more true for El Paso.

A local news agency captured police records related to this case. They do not paint a picture of criminal masterminds. Apparently, the crew drilled through a wall via another business associated with storage. Once inside, they drove off with the vehicles but did not get very far. The police did not catch them before they left; for some reason, they just did not go far.

Suspects left two cars in nearby alleys. In fact, one was reported to be just five minutes from the crime scene. Another was six minutes away. Somewhat comically, the police found another just four minutes from 160 N. Cotton St and apprehended two suspects instantly.

Law enforcement says one of the suspects admitted there was a plan: to take the cars and sell them. Apparently, the suspects thought they could move the vehicles across the border via the Bridge of the Americas. The same person said they hoped to keep at least one of the cars obtained during the raid. Now, none of them will keep the cars, and they’ll get at least one more entry in their criminal record.
