Escape from Patrol in a Chrysler 300
A white Chrysler 300 sedan with a V8 engine recently fled from Georgia State Patrol officers during a routine traffic stop in Atlanta. According to law enforcement, the driver abruptly began to flee, leading to a high-speed pursuit.
Course of Events
The incident occurred on September 14, 2025. Dashcam video shows Officer Brown initiating a standard vehicle stop. However, when the officer exited his car and approached on foot, the driver of the Chrysler 300 unexpectedly accelerated sharply and began to flee.
The pursuit quickly escalated. Other patrol cars, including Ford Mustangs, joined the chase. The participants were moving at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour for some time, maneuvering through other traffic. The fleeing driver managed to turn onto Lawton Street, where he squeezed through a very narrow gap between a Chevrolet Malibu and a Jeep Gladiator, knocking off the Chevrolet’s mirror in the process.
Officers on the video discuss that they almost caught up with the violator, although they never made contact with his vehicle. One of them notes that the driver was very aggressive. They also speculated that the Chrysler 300 must have had a Hellcat engine, as the car demonstrated serious power.
End of the Pursuit
Despite their efforts, the police were unable to catch the violator. Approximately seven minutes into the chase, the officers finally lost sight of the Chrysler 300 in a residential area and were forced to terminate the pursuit about a minute and a half later. One of the patrolmen nearly damaged his own car by driving over a hill in the residential neighborhood at high speed.
This case once again raises questions about law enforcement pursuit tactics. Residents of the neighborhoods through which the fugitive sped at high speed would probably prefer the police to use all available methods, such as air support or better radio coordination, for apprehension. However, officers directly involved in such pursuits often assess risks differently, concerned about the safety of other road users.
Incidents like this show how unpredictable standard traffic stops can be. The Chrysler 300, often associated with comfort and respectability, in this case proved to be a fast and maneuverable car capable of evading even special police vehicles in a chase. This also demonstrates the technical capabilities of modern sedans, even without obvious sporty insignia, which can be a surprise both for viewers and for law enforcement officers.
