Is This Used Audi RS4 Avant with 7,000 Miles Worth More Than a New RS6 Avant?

A Rare Audi RS4 with Minimal Mileage is Up for Auction

A unique 2002 Audi RS4 with only 7,000 miles on the odometer has appeared at an auction. This car is equipped with a 2.7-liter bi-turbo V6 engine that produces 375 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque. Experts suggest that this specimen could cost more than a new RS6 Avant model.

Audi has been producing RS versions of Avants for over 25 years, and each new generation becomes more powerful and aggressive. However, for many brand enthusiasts, the original RS4 remains an iconic car. A feature of this model is that it was produced exclusively in the Avant body style, which was one of the reasons for the lack of official deliveries to the USA.

“The RS4 built on the earlier S4 wagon that continued in production alongside it, adding wider fenders front and rear, lower, stiffer suspension, bigger brakes and 18-inch Avus alloys.”

This particular specimen was imported to the USA back in 2002 and adapted to local standards. Despite its age, the car is in excellent condition: the mileage is only 11,242 km (6,986 miles), and the interior shows practically no signs of wear.

At the time of the article’s publication, bids at the auction had already reached $84,000, and less than a day remained until the end of trading. It will be interesting to see if the final price exceeds the cost of a new RS6 Avant, which is $126,600. For true collectors, such a rare specimen could be worth any amount of money, as its value will only increase over time.

Today, the market for collector cars sees a particular demand for well-preserved specimens with minimal mileage. Similar auctions often become a place of fierce competition among collectors willing to pay significant sums for a piece of automotive history.
