Rare Ferrari F355 GTS of former Top Gear host goes under the hammer
The modern Ferrari lineup no longer includes naturally aspirated V8s, which were the brand’s hallmark for decades. This is why collectors are willing to pay significant sums for such cars, especially if they are in excellent condition.
This is about a 1996 Ferrari F355 GTS, which will be sold at an auction in the UK. Its cost was once around £90,000, and today RM Sotheby’s expects it could fetch up to £220,000.
Clarkson called this model the best car he had ever driven at that time.
The car has only 14,899 miles on the odometer, which is very low for its age. Additional value is provided by the rare sports seats in Crema leather with red inserts.
This F355 GTS was ordered new by former Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson. After a test drive, he decided to buy one for himself. Later, the car was raffled off in a The Sunday Times competition and then changed owners several times.
Although it is possible to find an F355 for less money now, this particular example has a unique history and excellent technical condition. For fans of classic Ferraris, this is a real find that could become a valuable exhibit in a collection. The demand for such cars is only growing, especially when they are associated with famous personalities.
