Is the New Cadillac Vistiq the Compact Escalade You’ve Been Waiting For?

Cadillac Vistiq: A New Electric Crossover with Power and Comfort

Cadillac continues to expand its electric lineup, and the new Vistiq is one of its key models. This crossover, replacing the XT6, offers a powerful dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, a luxurious interior, and a comfortable ride. However, it is quite expensive and may feel overly packed with technology.

The Vistiq inherits Cadillac’s design language: the Black Crystal Shield grille, split headlights, and sleek body lines. Its length is 205.6 inches (5.2 m), with a wheelbase of 121.8 inches (3.1 m). A distinctive feature is the Mondrian-inspired graphics on the rear windows, which may not appeal to everyone.

Technical Specifications

Interior and Technology

The Vistiq’s cabin impresses with its high-quality materials: Phantom Blue leather, Lumen wood trim, and microfiber. Three rows of seats ensure comfort even for adult passengers. The centerpiece is a 33-inch display, though some settings (e.g., for the heads-up display) may not be intuitive.

“The second-row seats offer first-class conditions: they feature heating, adjustability, and recline,” notes the reviewer.

The crossover is equipped with the Super Cruise system, enabling safe highway driving without constant driver input. It also includes five-zone climate control, wireless smartphone charging, and a 23-speaker AKG audio system.

Driving Experience

The Vistiq is fast and smooth thanks to the adaptive Air Ride suspension. Active rear-wheel steering (up to 3.5 degrees) improves maneuverability. The brakes are effective, though the top-tier Platinum version features even more powerful Brembo brakes.

Despite weighing over 6,300 lbs (2,870 kg), the crossover handles well on winding roads. However, the steering could provide more feedback in sport mode.

The Vistiq’s price starts at $77,395 (excluding delivery), while the Premium Luxury version costs nearly $94,000. This is significantly more expensive than the XT6, but its competitors include the Volvo EX90 and Mercedes EQS SUV. Cadillac claims that 80% of Lyriq buyers previously did not own a Cadillac, and the Vistiq may continue this trend.
