Consumer Reports published a new car reliability rating by brand

The American magazine compiled a list of brands based on the reliability of their models. In this case, it refers to the “average temperature in the hospital,” that is, the arithmetic average for the models.

In 2021, the reliability rating of Consumer Reports changed slightly. Compared to last year, Lexus took 1st place (Mazda, which was the leader in 2020, is now in second place). In turn, Toyota took third place. Infiniti and Buick also entered the TOP-5.

This year, the average score ranges from 41 to 60 points (out of a maximum 100). The best performance is by Japanese and Korean brands (in total, for Asian brands, excluding China) – 62, Europeans – 44. As for American brands – 42 points. By the way, if interested – the list of cars that break down most often, is topped by Mercedes (GLE model).
