The presentation of the charged SEAT Leon took place in Spain. The hot hatch and the charged station wagon will now be presented under the Cupra brand. Sales of the model start in the fall with prices starting at around 35 thousand euros.
The new Cupra Leon looks rather restrained and differs from the standard SEAT Leon 2020 with modest body kits, a special grille, and 18-inch wheels (19-inch are optional). At the back, there is a diffuser and four exhaust pipes.
The interior features copper-colored inserts and stitching. The Cupra Leon received a flat-bottomed steering wheel, metal pedal pads, and illuminated sills. There is a virtual cockpit with new graphics and a 10-inch touchscreen. Sports seats are also installed.
The familiar two-liter turbo engine is offered in versions with 245, 300, and 306 hp, with the most powerful option currently available only for the station wagon and comes with all-wheel drive.
It accelerates to a hundred in 4.8 seconds and reaches 250 km/h.
The novelty is a 245-hp plug-in hybrid Cupra Leon with a 1.4-liter turbo-four and an electric motor. It is capable of driving up to 60 km in electric mode.
Naturally, the charged hatchback and station wagon received a reworked suspension. Equipment includes adaptive dampers and Brembo brakes.
