Cupra Introduces Concept Car with Innovative Features That Will Change the Perception of Driving

Announcement of the New Cupra Concept

Cupra is preparing to present the Tindaya concept on September 8 at the IAA Mobility show in Munich. This showcase will mark a new stage in the development of the brand’s design, demonstrating the future approach to combining emotions and technology.

Origin of the Name and First Details

The name Tindaya comes from a volcanic mountain on Fuerteventura, one of the Canary Islands. Cupra introduced this name in a short CGI video where an asteroid carves the corresponding word into volcanic rock.

Exterior Design

The company has published a teaser image showing the rear of the concept. The slim, protruding rear lights extend to the car’s profile and feature illumination with the Tindaya inscription. Relief rear wings with a glossy texture, similar to carbon fiber, are also visible, combined with copper accents and a matte finish on the upper part of the body.

The teasers do not reveal the body type, but it will most likely be a coupe-SUV or a sports crossover. A previously published video showed a futuristic interior with an illuminated diamond structure and a ribbed texture.

Cupra’s Futuristic New Concept Promises Something Drivers Have Never Seen Before

Philosophy and Technologies

The exterior and interior design of the Tindaya is built on the principle of “No drivers, no Cupra,” which rules out the possibility of creating a robotaxi. Instead, the concept is positioned as the “perfect symbiosis of human and machine,” indicating an advanced digital interface.

Expected Specifications

The type of powertrain has not been disclosed, but there is a high probability that it will be fully electric. The car promises to be sporty, as, according to the manufacturer, it “ensures maximum focus on the driver, offering a unique experience and enhancing emotions.”

Other Cupra News at IAA Mobility

In addition to the Tindaya, the nearly production-ready prototype Raval with a camouflaged body will be presented at the Cupra stand in Munich. The fully electric Cupra Raval uses the same platform as the future production version of the VW ID.2all hatchback and the Skoda Epiq SUV. It is expected to hit the market in 2026, becoming the most affordable model in Cupra’s electric lineup.

This concept not only showcases future design but also highlights the growing role of digital technologies in the interaction between the driver and the car. Cupra continues to experiment with materials and shapes, which could influence production models in the coming years, especially considering plans for electrification and expansion of the model range.
