Nissan clears up confusion regarding new sedans
Nissan continues the development of new models for various markets, including North America. However, the patent images that recently went viral turned out to be the Chinese EVO concept, not the future Sentra or Altima, as some had assumed.
The EVO concept sedan was introduced in Beijing alongside other Nissan electric vehicles. The design of the patent drawings completely matches this concept, including the characteristic LED headlights and body lines. The patents were registered in China, which confirms their origin.
What to expect from the new Sentra?
The real updated Sentra for the American market was already partially shown in shadowy renders. Nissan intentionally hid key design details, leaving room for speculation. Production of the new model is planned for 2027, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
The Chinese version of the EVO might get a production version through Nissan’s joint ventures, similar to the N7 electric sedan. Although this model is not intended for sale in North America, the situation could change, as it has with other company cars.
Despite the difficulties Nissan has faced in recent years, the company continues to invest in the development of new models for various markets. China remains a key region for the brand, where it is actively developing its lineup of electric and hybrid vehicles. Parallel work is underway to update classic models for traditional markets, such as the USA.
