Rare Yes! Roadster – A Sports Car with a Turbocharged V6
Small, lightweight sports cars have become a rarity today, which makes the Yes! Roadster a particularly interesting specimen. This car looks as if it was taken from a Grand Theft Auto game, but it is real – and one of them is now offered for sale.
Funke & Will AG was founded by students Herbert Funke and Philipp Will. Their first car, the Yes! Clubsport, debuted in 2001. The second generation, the Yes! Roadster, became slightly larger but retained the original design. Under the hood is a 3.2-liter V6 in two versions: naturally aspirated and turbocharged.
Performance Characteristics
One of the turbocharged specimens with a 6-speed manual transmission develops 350 hp and 450 Nm of torque. Thanks to a weight of only 920 kg, the Roadster accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, and to 200 km/h in 11.8 seconds. Such figures remain impressive even two decades after its release.
“If you’re looking for a fast and rare sports car, maybe it’s time to say ‘Yes!’ to the Yes! Roadster”
Production of these cars ceased in 2009 due to the company’s bankruptcy. It is estimated that fewer than 200 units were produced, making the Yes! Roadster a true collector’s rarity. Despite the brand’s low popularity, this car demonstrates what the engineering ambitions of young developers are capable of.
