Nissan Caravan Update: New Trims and Comfort
While Nissan is preparing a new generation of the Caravan, the company has introduced updates for the current model, which has been on the market for 14 years. The main changes concern comfort and functionality: updated front seats, a larger navigation display, improved driver assistance systems, and new trims for outdoor enthusiasts.
The exterior remains unchanged, but a new Premium GX Outdoor Black Edition version has appeared with black accents on the grille, bumpers, mirrors, and door handles. This gives the van a more robust look.
New Trims and Interior
Of particular interest is the optional “Sotoasobi Package,” which includes a matte hood film, stone protection, extended fenders from JAOS, and special emblems. A Caravan Autech Line version has also appeared with 15-inch discs and waterproof interior upholstery.
Inside, all versions have received updated front seats with improved back support and shape memory. Technical updates include a 9-inch navigation screen and enhanced safety systems, such as Intelligent Cruise Control.
Technical Specifications
The engines remain the same: a 2.0-liter gasoline (129 hp) or a 2.5-liter diesel (130 hp). Both units work with a 7-speed automatic transmission and can be supplied in rear-wheel or all-wheel drive configurations.
The updated Caravan will go on sale in Japan on August 25th, priced from ¥2,708,200 to ¥5,639,000. The Sotoasobi Package will be available for an additional ¥198,155. Despite its age, this model remains relevant, especially compared to some competitors that have been in production even longer.
These updates show that Nissan continues to improve the Caravan without waiting for a full generation change. The emphasis on comfort and versatility is particularly noteworthy, making the model attractive to various categories of buyers – from commercial use to family trips.
