Lexus Introduces Exclusive LBX Morizo RR Version

Lexus has introduced a special version of its compact crossover, the LBX Morizo RR, called the Original Edition. This model differs from the standard one with its Sonic Chrome paint finish with bright yellow accents on the front and brake calipers. The design echoes the concept shown a year earlier and resembles the personal car of Toyota’s chairman, Akio Toyoda.

Production is limited to just 100 units, which will be available exclusively in the Japanese market. Purchasing such a car will only be possible through a special lottery, as regular sales through dealers are not provided.

Technical Features

The LBX Morizo RR Original Edition did not receive additional performance updates, but even the standard version is already quite powerful. The car is equipped with a 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine that produces 300 hp and 400 Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 5.2 seconds. The crossover is offered with all-wheel drive and a choice of a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Unfortunately, the LBX Morizo RR is not planned for sale in the USA. Although American drivers might consider the GR Corolla as an alternative, that model is a hatchback, not a crossover, and does not have the same level of comfort and premium finish as the Lexus.

This project is a reminder that automakers sometimes create special versions not only for commercial success but also for experimentation and to please fans. The LBX Morizo RR Original Edition is a true collector’s item that combines the sporting spirit of Gazoo Racing with the elegance of Lexus.
