British Company Theon Design Unveils Porsche 964 Restomod
Specialists from Great Britain have transformed a Porsche 964 into a powerful restomod. The car received a new heart – a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter air-cooled flat-six engine.
The main technical characteristics of this reworked model are:
The Heart and Character of the Car
Externally, the car looks quite restrained, but under the hood hides a real beast. The engine is equipped with individual throttle bodies and open intake trumpets, promising excellent response and an unforgettable sound.
This restomod proves that money can indeed buy happiness.
To control and manage such power, engineers installed specially tuned TracTive semi-active dampers, as well as brake components from the Porsche 911 Carrera RS of the 993 generation. The car sits on stylish 17-inch wheels in the spirit of Fuchs, shod with new Michelin tires.

Metamorphosis from Donor to Masterpiece
Any project begins with a complete disassembly of the donor Porsche 964 car down to the bare body. Then the body is reinforced with additional welds, and standard panels are replaced with lightweight composite ones. This example is painted in Medium Ivory with contrasting Grand Prix White stripes and fully protected with PPF film.
Thanks to the extensive use of carbon fiber, the car’s weight is only 1150 kg. This provides a power-to-weight ratio that surpasses even that of the modern Porsche 911 GT3 RS.
Meticulous Interior Work
The changes inside the car are also impressive in their detail. Recaro CS seats with carbon backs are upholstered in tobacco-colored nubuck leather, stitched with ivory-colored thread, echoing the exterior. Plastic control elements have been replaced with machined aluminum ones, giving a sense of quality and reliability.
The rear seats were removed in favor of a carbon fiber storage compartment. The audio system was upgraded to a set of six Focal speakers powered by an Audison amplifier.
Price and Creation Time
Individual projects like this one start from £420,000, and the production of each takes approximately 18 months. The price of perfection is determined not only by the cost of parts but also by the hours of meticulous manual labor required to achieve it.
The market for classic Porsche restomods continues to evolve, demonstrating that the demand for unique, top-tier cars is only growing. Projects like this one from Theon Design do not just update old models but create an entirely new product that combines the soul of a classic with modern technology and craftsmanship. This points to the formation of a whole segment in the automotive industry where individuality, material quality, and driving emotions come to the fore, rather than mass production.
