This Electric Car Broke a Record and Made Koenigsegg Look Slow

Rimac Nevera R Sets New World Records

Rimac continues to impress the world with automotive achievements. After the standard Nevera set several records two years ago, the Croatian brand has broken its own figures, setting 24 world records with the updated Nevera R. This version of the electric hypercar received more power, improved aerodynamics, and less weight.

The New King of Speed

The most significant achievement was the 0-400-0 km/h record. The standard Nevera previously held first place with a result of 29.93 seconds, surpassing the Koenigsegg Agera RS (31.49 seconds in 2019). However, last year the Jesko Absolut took the crown with a time of 27.83 seconds. Now the Nevera R has regained the lead, showing an incredible 25.79 seconds — 2.04 seconds faster than the Jesko.

Furthermore, the Nevera R accelerates to 60 mph in 1.66 seconds (previous figure was 1.74 seconds), and to 186 mph in 7.89 seconds. It also set a new electric car record by reaching a top speed of 431.45 km/h (268.1 mph).

What’s Behind These Figures?

If the standard Nevera produces 1,888 hp, the R-version develops 1,989 hp. Additionally, the car became 35 kg (77 lbs) lighter, received improved Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, and 15% more downforce thanks to a new rear wing.

“When we first introduced the Nevera, it seemed like the peak of speed for hypercars had been reached. But thanks to constant innovation, the Nevera R has become even faster, while still maintaining comfort for everyday use,” noted Mate Rimac.

These results show how rapidly technology is developing in the world of high-performance cars. The Nevera R not only regained its leadership but also significantly raised the bar for future rivals. It is especially impressive that such speed is achieved in an electric car, which is now dictating trends in the entire automotive world.
