This classic Range Rover is actually a modern off-roader in disguise

Unique Range Rover with modern technologies

At first glance, this car resembles a standard Range Rover Classic, but in reality, it has a unique construction. The body is taken from a 1993 model but is mounted on a chassis from a 2004 Discovery. The wheelbase is shortened by 345 mm, giving the vehicle unusual proportions. Additionally, it features 20-inch wheels, new bumpers, and side skirts.

Power and comfort

The heart of this Range Rover is a powerful 6.2-liter LSA V8 engine, previously used in the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and Cadillac CTS-V. It is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system. The suspension has also been upgraded—the original air suspension was replaced with Ohlins dampers.

This is one of those projects that combines classic style with modern power.

The car’s interior is upholstered in light beige leather and equipped with a modern Alpine multimedia system and a push-button start. The mileage is only 1,104 miles (1,776 km), likely reflecting the distance after customization rather than the actual chassis mileage.

This unique Range Rover will be sold at an RM Sotheby’s auction in the UK. It is a great example of how retro design can be combined with modern technology. Such a car not only attracts attention but also provides a high level of comfort and dynamics.

The Chieftain project demonstrates that even older models can be given new life through creative approaches and modern technical solutions. Such transformations are becoming increasingly popular among car enthusiasts who want a unique vehicle with history but the performance of modern off-roaders.
