Updated Tata Altroz 2025: What’s Changed?

Indian automaker Tata has unveiled the updated version of the compact hatchback Altroz for the local market. The model received a refreshed exterior and interior design, but the technical specifications remain unchanged. The car’s price starts at 6.89 lakh rupees (approximately $8.1 thousand) and goes up to 11.29 lakh rupees ($13.3 thousand) for top trim levels.

The Altroz, which debuted in 2019, was due for an update. In 2025, the model received a more modern design with revised front and rear sections, new LED headlights, and a light strip between the rear taillights. Additionally, 16-inch alloy wheels and updated door handles were introduced.

Updated Interior and Technical Features

The interior has become more contemporary thanks to two 10.25-inch screens, a new steering wheel, and an updated instrument panel. The rear seats now feature improved support, and the doors open at a 90-degree angle for convenience. Base trims come with six airbags, while top trims include additional features such as voice-controlled sunroof and wireless charging.

Despite the updates, the engine lineup remains unchanged: a 1.2-liter petrol (87 hp), a 1.2-liter bi-fuel (73 hp), and a 1.5-liter diesel (89 hp).

The Altroz’s competitors in the Indian market remain the Hyundai i20, Suzuki Baleno, and Toyota Glanza. The new model is slightly more expensive than its predecessor but still remains an affordable option in its segment. It is currently unknown whether the sporty Altroz Racer version with a more powerful turbo engine will be updated.

The Indian market continues to surprise with its affordable prices compared to Europe or North America. The updated Altroz is an example of how minor changes can significantly refresh a model without substantially increasing its cost. Particularly impressive is the standard safety package, which includes six airbags even in base versions.
