Student Dodge concept caught the attention of Stellantis’ top designer
A student from a Detroit college, John Carioti, created an impressive electric Dodge muscle car concept as part of his graduation project. The work so impressed Ralph Gilles, Stellantis’ chief designer, that he posted it on his Instagram with the caption: “Once again, College for Creative Studies graduates are on fire!”
The concept features an aggressive design with a massive front spoiler, full-size LED headlights, and a narrow radiator grille. The rear of the car impresses with an active spoiler and an LED light strip. The design resembles the Ford Mustang GTD but with more compact dimensions and a speed-oriented silhouette.
The future of muscle cars
Although Dodge is currently focused on selling gasoline-powered models, Carioti’s concept demonstrates a potential path for the development of electric muscle cars. The project remains a design study with no plans for mass production, but it could easily be adapted for traditional V8 engines.
The publication by the renowned designer was an important step for the young specialist. Such highly praised work could open doors to a career at one of Stellantis’ design studios, where Carioti could influence the future not only of muscle cars but also other types of the company’s vehicles.
