This car boasts a number of impressive features:
Unconventional Exterior
Looking at this 1995 Nissan 240SX from the rear, only the widened wheel arches are noticeable. However, once you walk around to the front or look under the hood, it becomes clear—this is no ordinary S14.
The Japanese classic is preparing for auction at Mecum this week. It is fitted with the V2 Boss body kit from Rocket Bunny, which includes more than just widened fenders. The front end is completely redesigned and visually reminiscent of classic American muscle cars like the 1970 Plymouth ‘Cuda.

Heart of American Power
The American influence is not limited to design. Instead of the original S14 four-cylinder engine, under the hood now resides a 6.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 LS2 from General Motors.
This engine has been modified: new camshafts and titanium valves have been installed. Thanks to these upgrades, the unit produces monstrous 520 hp and 510 lb-ft (691 Nm) of torque. The roar of the V8 combined with the lightweight body promises incredible driving sensations.
Technical Details and Interior
The LS2 engine is paired with a Tremec six-speed manual transmission, which sends power to the rear wheels. Among other modifications are an Air Lift suspension, a stainless steel exhaust system, and a vibrant Electric Metallic Blue paint job.
The exhaust tips are made of titanium and have a characteristic blue tint. A set of aftermarket Kanza Cerberus II wheels has also been installed.
The car’s interior has been altered more modestly. Most elements remain factory-original, except for a new three-spoke steering wheel and a gear shift knob. This hints at the updated dynamic capabilities of the car without losing its original character.
Recognition and Auction Prospects
Additional value to this S14 is given by its victory at the 2024 Hot Wheels Legends Tour in Georgia and the title of People’s Favorite in North America. It will be interesting to see for what sum it will be sold, as it combines the best from the JDM and American muscle classic markets.
This project clearly demonstrates the incredible energy that can be infused into a 90s Nissan body. The auction will attract the attention of both fans of aggressive driving and collectors of unique tuned cars.
Similar projects, where a Japanese platform receives an American V8, have long become a separate cult phenomenon in the automotive world. They symbolize the cross-cultural exchange of ideas and technologies. The success of this particular model in the Hot Wheels competition indicates that the public appreciates not only stylistic purity but also bold hybrid solutions that give birth to an entirely new character for a car. The sale at the Mecum auction will be a good indicator of the market value of such unique, non-series creations of automotive art.
