This unexpected winner with a GT-R engine outpaced a hypercar that had twice the power

Praga Bohema – the unknown supercar that outran the giants

Sometimes small automakers create true masterpieces that overshadow even the most famous brands. The Praga Bohema is one such case. This little-known supercar set a record on the legendary Top Gear track, outpacing much more powerful models.

Thanks to its carbon fiber construction and aerodynamic design, the Bohema achieved incredible results. Its engine—a modified version of the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 from the Nissan GT-R—produces 700 horsepower. This power was enough to come close to the performance of the Aston Martin Valkyrie.

“Former Stig Ben Collins, after several attempts, posted a time of 1:09.8—just 0.2 seconds slower than the Valkyrie”

Record-breaking run

During test runs at the former Dunsfold airbase, the Bohema initially posted a time of 1:12.3, already better than the Ferrari 488 Pista. But with each lap, the time improved until it reached an impressive mark of 1:09.8.

Of course, it’s worth noting that during Top Gear shoots, drivers usually only get one attempt to set a time. In this case, Ben Collins was able to study the car in detail, which slightly alters the comparison conditions. Nevertheless, for a small company like Praga, this is a true success.

This case once again proves that in the automotive world, it’s not just power figures that matter, but also the skill of engineers who can create the perfect balance between weight, aerodynamics, and handling. The Bohema is a shining example of how a small manufacturer can challenge automotive giants.
