Unique Project from Brisbane
Previous generations of the Nissan Z have long been favorites for project builds, combining sleek proportions with a V6 engine and rear-wheel drive. In Brisbane, Australian enthusiast Jordan Harper took this formula and gave it his own twist, transforming his Nissan into something with more than a hint of Aston Martin attitude.
The Beginning of the Transformation
The starting point was a facelifted Nissan 370Z, which was purchased for a low price due to its accident history. Although the sports car was fully repaired, the new owner wanted something significantly more unique. He cut off the front and rear sections and redesigned them using aluminum composite elements.
The Car’s New Face
The biggest transformation occurred at the front. Harper’s design borrows elements from the pre-facelift Aston Martin Vantage and the Mazda MX-5 ND. The headlights, made from scratch, are impressively compact compared to the standard 370Z units and are still awaiting their high beams and turn signals. Positioned next to the widened fenders, they give the car a more aggressive stance.
The front bumper received an aerodynamic extension, a modified central intake, and additional ventilation holes on the nose. The profile is largely preserved, and matte paint refreshes it. Non-standard 18-inch alloy wheels are finished in black with yellow brake calipers.
Combining Different Parts
For the rear, Harper used a trunk lip from a Mercedes-AMG C63 and a slightly modified rear wing from a BMW M3 – both made from carbon fiber. The new layout also includes a pair of non-standard rear lights, connected by an LED strip, with the rear diffuser and centrally mounted dual exhaust pipes still under development.
Recent photos of the build suggest that Harper has not finalized the rear end, as the model appears to be equipped with a different rear spoiler. However, this is still a work in progress, and the final design has not yet been presented.
Technical Features
So far, Harper has not mentioned anything about performance or chassis upgrades, apart from posting photos with a Nitrous bottle for track use. From the factory, the Nissan 370Z was equipped with a 3.7-liter V6 engine producing 332 hp (248 kW / 337 PS) and 366 Nm (270 lb-ft) of torque straight from the factory. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed automatic.
This build is still taking shape, and the finished product promises to be special. We will share more photos and videos when Harper presents the completed car. In the meantime, here is a look at its current stage below.
