Japanese Company Toy Factory Creates Exclusive Star Wars-Themed Campers
Star Wars is one of the largest media franchises in the world, so it’s quite natural that automakers are trying to enter its orbit. The Japanese company Toy Factory, known for converting commercial vans into mobile hotels, has obtained the rights to produce campers dedicated to the saga’s universe.
The new model is named DA VINCI 6.0 STAR WARS EDITION. This is not just a van with appropriate body styling, but a specially developed mobile home for a few wealthy fans. Only five such units will be produced.
Design Inspired by the Dark Side of the Force
Toy Factory already has experience with licensed projects, having previously created campers based on Disney themes. However, this is their first direct project with Lucasfilm.
This new van looks as if it has turned to the Dark Side of the Force. It’s not Darth Vader’s personal transport, but something that might appeal to his devoted followers or a Sith on vacation.
The vehicle is built on a Fiat Ducato L3H2 chassis. Its length is 5995 mm, width is 2100 mm, and height is 2620 mm. The powertrain is a 2.2-liter MultiJet3 turbo diesel engine producing 180 hp, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The drive is front-wheel.
Imperial Interior and Luxurious Equipment
The interior is executed in a strict imperial color scheme. Metallic black surfaces are combined with black leather with red stitching. White accent lighting mimics the corridor lighting aboard a Star Destroyer. Designers call this concept the “dark intimidation motif.” Notably, there are no character images in the interior, making the space more restrained and mature.
The van is designed for four passengers and two people for overnight stays. Standard equipment includes:
Options include lithium-ion batteries, flexible solar panels, a 360-degree camera system, Alpine front and rear dashcams, and a 19-inch television.
High Price and Buyer Lottery
The camper’s price, as expected, is very high. The starting price in Japan is 21,870,000 yen, which is approximately equal to $140,000 USD. Since only five vehicles are planned for production, potential buyers must participate in a lottery that began on October 30, 2025.
This project once again demonstrates how pop culture influences the automotive industry, giving rise to unique and very limited products for collectors. Such campers become not just a means of transportation, but a mobile expression of the owner’s passion for a particular universe. The limited run guarantees exclusivity but also makes such cars more an object of investment or a luxurious hobby than a practical solution for travel. The market for such special projects continues to grow, showing that there are increasingly more intersections between automobiles, art, and entertainment.
