New Open-top Sports Car from Touring Superleggera
Italian car builder Touring Superleggera has introduced the new Veloce12 Barchetta model, based on the Ferrari 550. This is the open-top version of the previously presented coupe, impressive with its design and technical characteristics.
Design and Unique Elements
The design of the Veloce12 Barchetta largely mirrors the coupe but features several unique elements. The front of the car features new headlights with two square lamps, trimmed in carbon fiber.
Altered Structure Due to the Open Roof
The most significant change is the open roof, which led to the installation of two leather-wrapped safety hoops behind the seats. Furthermore, Touring Superleggera developed a unique rear cowl for this model. Like the hardtop version, the Barchetta features new exhaust tips and a carbon fiber diffuser.
Technical Specifications and Speed
The engine remains the same – a 5.5-liter V12 that develops 478 hp and 419 lb-ft of torque. Combined with the six-speed manual transmission, it enables acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 290 km/h.
The engine might be standard for Ferrari, but the manufacturer added a Supersprint exhaust system, Tractive adjustable suspension, and more powerful Brembo brakes for improved dynamics.
Interior and Exclusivity
The Barchetta’s cabin is executed in rich brown and cream leather colors, with individual switches and instruments, emphasizing the project’s exclusivity. The interior was presented during the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance last weekend.
Price and Availability
Touring Superleggera will release only 30 units of the Veloce12 Coupe, each starting at $758,000 excluding the cost of the base car. The quantity of the Barchetta and its price have not been announced yet, but it is expected to be more expensive than the hardtop version.
This model continues the traditions of Italian car design, combining classic features with modern technology. The open-top configuration adds dynamism and emotion, making the Veloce12 Barchetta even more attractive to collectors and sports car enthusiasts. The manufacturer maintains high quality standards and an individual approach, making each unit unique.
