This BMW sedan has increased in price by $52,000 in three years, having driven only 118 miles

BMW M5 CS sold for a record price

A few years ago, high prices for premium cars were not surprising, but today the market has become more stable. However, this BMW M5 CS was an exception—it was sold for a significantly higher amount than its original price, despite being several years old.

The car has only 118 miles on the odometer, is finished in Brands Hatch Gray Metallic, and features a black-and-red interior. The CS version also comes with carbon-ceramic brakes, an active rear differential, forged wheels, and other sporty upgrades. However, the main feature lies under the hood.

The last of its kind

Under the hood is a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 producing 627 horsepower (467 kW) and 553 lb-ft (748 Nm) of torque. The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, which can be disabled via the multimedia system. But most importantly, this model has no electric motors—unlike the new generation M5, which is exclusively available as a hybrid.

This is the pinnacle of M5 evolution with an internal combustion engine. In five years, this car will be worth $250,000+.

Auction commentators are confident that the price of this car will continue to rise. A similar situation was observed with the E60 M5, which was the last model with a naturally aspirated engine. Whether these expectations will be met remains to be seen, but the trend suggests that collector cars without electronic “additions” are becoming increasingly valuable.

The BMW M5 CS is not just a fast sedan but a symbol of the end of an era of pure gasoline-powered sports cars. Its technical specifications and limited production make it an investment object rather than just a means of transportation.
