The car was purchased new in August 1998 in Pinellas Park, Florida, and has remained in the same condition as it left the factory ever since. It is painted in Super White and fitted with original five-spoke alloy wheels with bright chrome accents. According to the listing, over the past 27 years, the mileage has amounted to only 6,100 miles.

Although there are no detailed records of the Supra’s storage conditions and maintenance over the decades, it appears exceptionally well-kept visually. The clear coat has no obvious defects, and the condition of the body suggests the car was primarily kept indoors.

The interior also looks flawless. Mecum representatives also note that the Targa removable roof has never been removed.

Under the hood lies the legendary 3.0-liter twin-turbo 2JZ-GTE engine, which cemented the Supra’s reputation as a reliable and powerful car. Factory figures were 321 horsepower and 315 lb-ft of torque, transmitted to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission.

According to test results from that time, acceleration from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) took about 4.9 seconds without using the rollout method, and the top speed was electronically limited to 155 mph (250 km/h).

Auction Expectations

It will be interesting to see for what amount the car will be sold. Some Supras of this generation with low mileage in previous years have sold for over $200,000, and although the market has cooled somewhat since its peak in 2022, we would be surprised if bids for this specimen don’t reach at least $150,000.
