This Jaguar Looks Priceless, But Its Real Market Value Is Surprisingly Low

Jaguar E-Type Lightweight Continuation: A Rarity at Auction

In the world of modern supercars with carbon fiber bodies and electric vehicles, the Jaguar E-Type Lightweight Continuation remains a symbol of an era when racing cars were works of art. This model is a continuation of the legendary series that Jaguar planned to release back in 1963–1964, but at that time, only 12 units were built.

In 2014, the company decided to complete the historical project by manufacturing six additional cars. One of them, which was used for presentations, is now being auctioned with an expected price of $900,000 to $1.4 million.

Technical Features

This car features an aluminum body with a silvery-purple hue, white round emblems on the hood and sides, and original Dunlop tires. Under the hood is a 3.8-liter six-cylinder engine producing 300 horsepower, working with three Weber carburetors. SVO engineers also installed updated shock absorbers and front torsion bars.

Price Dynamics

Interestingly, despite an initial cost of $1.6 million, auction estimates are now lower. In 2020, one of these models was already sold, but for a significantly smaller amount. This may indicate that the collector demand for these cars is not as high as expected.

The Jaguar E-Type has always been a symbol of style and engineering genius, but the collector car market sometimes dictates its own rules. Perhaps the new owner of this rarity will get not only a unique car but also a good long-term investment.
