This Formula 1 Star Is Parting with His Aston Martin Valkyrie After Just 160 Kilometers of Mileage

Sale of a Unique Hypercar

The Aston Martin Valkyrie is considered one of the most significant road cars, but it seems that more and more owners are quietly parting with their examples. Former Australian Formula 1 star Daniel Ricciardo has become the latest on this list, putting his custom Valkyrie up for sale through Broad Arrow Auctions in October.

Ricciardo’s connection to the Valkyrie is deeper than just signing an order. Back in 2016, while driving for Red Bull, he participated in the global presentation of the car, which was then called the AM-RB 001. The exact date he received his own car or its cost remains unknown, but this year someone else will get the keys to this machine, born on the racetrack.

Custom Paintwork

When ordering his Valkyrie (chassis number 089), Ricciardo chose the Dichoric Dawn paintwork, also known as Badger Blue. This paint was a rather expensive option – £30,000 ($40,500). It appears white under certain lighting but has a slight blue tint from other angles. The Australian also ordered matching Dichoric Dawn graphic elements on the roof, optional black exhaust tips, and glossy carbon on the roof and engine cover.

Details That Shape the Value

The Valkyrie is also equipped with a set of magnesium wheels costing £40,000 ($54,000), finished in matte black, under which black brake calipers are located. Special options ordered through Aston Martin’s Q department continue inside and include black Alcantara with embossing and satin carbon fiber details. In total, this hypercar is fitted with options worth £141,500 ($191,000), and it comes with the service plan of the Valkyrie Ownership Experience Program.

This program is valid until August 2027 and guarantees that the car will remain in perfect technical condition. However, the next owner will have to make four annual payments of £23,000 ($31,000) to keep the plan active.

Minimal Mileage and High Cost

Despite the extraordinary specifications, Ricciardo has hardly used this car. The odometer shows only 100 miles (160 km) since purchase, and its condition confirms this. Broad Arrow Auctions expects the car to sell for between €2.4 million ($2.8 million) and €2.8 million ($3.28 million), making it one of the most sought-after Valkyries on the open market.

The sale of such a car again raises questions about the practicality of owning extreme hypercars, which are often used only as investment or collection objects. The low mileage certainly increases its value for the next collector, but it also suggests that the true potential of this engineering pinnacle remains unrealized on public roads.
