This Ferrari Is So Unsuccessful That Even Reddit Considered It a Fake

Ferrari 512 TR with Controversial Modifications

The Ferrari 512 TR is a car that is deservedly considered a design icon thanks to its elegance and power. However, one of the owners decided to make radical changes to it, which raised doubts about the car’s authenticity. Among the most noticeable modifications are black wheels, a repainted roof and pillars, as well as a massive spoiler from Koenig.

The modified doors and air intakes look especially strange. Unlike the classic Testarossa, this model lacks the characteristic horizontal slats. Instead, there are smooth surfaces, also painted black. These changes have so significantly altered the car’s appearance that many initially considered it a replica.

As it turned out, this is a genuine 1992 Ferrari 512 TR, registered in Italy. Under the hood remains the original 4.9-liter flat-12 engine.

Despite the questionable visual choices, the car has retained its performance. But it is this contrast between the original power and the unsuccessful tuning that raises the most questions. Was it worth modifying a classic so much if, as a result, it lost its charisma?

This story is a reminder that even the most expensive cars are not immune to dubious experiments. Sometimes less really is more, especially when it comes to legendary models that have already become a part of automotive history.
