This New Sports Model Weighs Half as Much as a Mazda MX-5 and is Fitted with a Compact BMW Inline-Six Engine

Lightweight Sports Car from Shoreline Bespoke

Creating an automotive brand that can compete in the modern market is no easy task. However, two engineers from California, Spencer Beckman and Kyle Krueger, decided to challenge the industry. They founded Shoreline Bespoke in 2021 and are working on a lightweight two-seater sports car in a retro style.

The LM Coupe will have a tubular steel frame, an adjustable double-wishbone suspension, brakes from AP Racing, and an individual control system. The car’s weight will be only about 635 kg, which is almost half that of a Mazda MX-5.

Technical Features

Under the hood (or more precisely, behind the seats) will be a 1.65-liter naturally aspirated inline-six engine, likely a modified version of the BMW K1600 motorcycle unit. It will produce up to 250 hp and will rev up to 10,000 rpm. Instead of a traditional manual transmission, a sequential one will be used.

The design of the LM Coupe combines classic elegance and modern technology, inspired by the race cars of the past.

The interior is also executed in a retro spirit: fixed carbon seats, adjustable pedals and steering wheel, and instead of a multimedia screen, a smartphone mount. The presentation of the finished car is planned for August, and the first deliveries to customers will begin in 2026.

Shoreline Bespoke aims to create a car that stands out from modern heavy and electronics-saturated models. The cost of the LM Coupe will be about half a million dollars, making it an exclusive offering for true enthusiasts. Whether there will be enough buyers for such a niche product, only time will tell.
