Modern Version of the Legendary Audi Quattro to Get a Powerful V8 Engine
A new exciting project has emerged in the world of automotive restomods. The British startup Audacious Automotive has presented its first development based on the iconic Audi Quattro. The company plans to combine the car’s classic design with modern technology.
The main focus of the modernization will be the powertrain. Instead of the original 2.1-liter five-cylinder turbocharged engine, a 4.2-liter V8 from the Audi RS4 B7 generation will be used.
Exterior Modernization Inspired by Racing
The car’s exterior will also undergo serious changes. The designers were inspired by the S1 Quattro model, which dominated in Group B rallying.
These parts will not be just for looks; they will also perform cooling and aerodynamic functions.
The front end will receive an updated bumper, a new radiator grille, and powerful air intakes. The car will be equipped with widened wheel arches, which will significantly emphasize its sporty character.
Technical Advantages and Project Cost
Thanks to the use of new materials and bodywork modifications, the weight of the restomod will be at least 250 kg less than that of a standard Audi RS4 B7. This promises excellent acceleration dynamics and high handling performance.
However, such a transformation will not come cheap. The base cost of work from Audacious Automotive is about 466 thousand dollars. It is important to note that this amount does not include the cost of the donor cars — the original Audi Quattro and Audi RS4, which are necessary for the build.
The emergence of such projects highlights the ongoing interest in the automotive heritage of the 80s, especially in models associated with rally glory. Using modern technology to revive classics allows for a unique product that combines nostalgic design with the power and reliability of modern units. This trend opens up new opportunities for collectors and enthusiasts looking for not just a restored, but a fundamentally updated car with a bright history.
