This Unique V8 Mercedes Has Already Changed Three Owners, Having Covered Only 932 Miles

Collectible Value of the Last V8

Among all the Mercedes-Benz C 63 versions released over the last decade, the 2023 Final Edition coupe is likely the most attractive to collectors. It symbolizes not only the end of a generation but also the final chapter in the AMG V8 story for this model.

Price Dynamics at Auctions

One such car was recently sold at a Bring a Trailer auction. Although it went for a significantly lower price than the original, the rate of depreciation is slowing, which may indicate stabilization or even future value growth.

The peculiarity of this story lies not only in its investment potential. The car is barely two years old, with only 932 miles on the odometer, yet it has already had three owners and has been registered in South Carolina, North Dakota, and Montana.

In December 2023, it was sold for $129,000, and at the latest auction, it found a new owner for $105,000.

Uniqueness of the Final Edition

The C205 generation C 63 was the last with a V8 engine before AMG transitioned to a hybrid turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, which received mixed reactions from buyers.

Even without a manual transmission, which is often an attribute of future classics, the status of being the last C-Class with a V8 grants it undeniable significance. Furthermore, Mercedes produced only 499 units of the C 63 S Final Edition.

Specifications and Cost

The Final Edition package added $36,363 to the base price of the coupe, indicating a focus on enthusiasts seeking something unique.

This car was also equipped with $2,500 AMG Performance sports seats, a $1,250 multimedia package, and a $1,750 AMG aerodynamic package, bringing the total cost to $133,063.

Future Prospects

Identifying future classics is always challenging, but one can imagine that low-mileage examples of the C 63 S, like this one, will once again sell for prices close to or even exceeding the original.

As is often the case, some further depreciation is still possible, but the value may reach a bottom before slowly beginning to rise.

The shift towards smaller engines across the automotive world makes models like the C 63 S Final Edition particularly valuable to fans of traditional technology. Its limited production run and historical significance as the last V8 in the C-Class series could secure it a place among cars that maintain or increase their value over time.
