Criminals Attempted to Steal Premium Cars but Overlooked Details
A group of criminals broke into an auto repair shop in Flushing, Queens, and attempted to steal several expensive cars. However, their plan failed because most of the vehicles were inoperable. Police had to shoot at a Porsche Cayenne to stop it at an intersection.
According to law enforcement, about 10 individuals broke into the Express Auto Repair shop before it opened. They took keys to several cars, including a Mercedes-Benz SL and a Porsche Cayenne. A shop employee suggested that a former client might have been involved in the theft, as the keys are usually kept in a locked safe.
“All these cars belonged to the shop owner. He bought them in a non-working condition and was repairing them.”
Police are currently searching for a black BMW that disappeared during the robbery. Two men have been detained for questioning, and the investigation is ongoing.
This incident shows how important it is for auto dealerships and repair shops to have reliable security systems. Even though most cars turned out to be undrivable, the criminals still managed to steal one vehicle. Business owners should review their key storage protocols and premises protection measures.
