Diamonds, Rubies, and a V16 Heart Inside One of the Rarest Watches of All Time

A Luxurious Watch by Bugatti and Jacob & Co.

Engineering Mastery in Every Detail

Bugatti’s latest hypercar is not only an engineering marvel but also a statement of complexity and craftsmanship so refined it bears the name Tourbillon, borrowed from the world of high horology. In keeping with this theme, Bugatti’s long-time partner, Jacob & Co., has created a new watch designed to mirror the car itself.

The two companies have previously collaborated on a series of watches inspired by the Chiron, and this latest Tourbillon continues the same spirit.

The standout feature of the new Jacob & Co Bugatti Tourbillon is a miniature version of the 8.0-liter naturally aspirated V16 engine that powers the hypercar. All 16 pistons are operated by a crankshaft 22.37 mm long, which comes to life at the press of a button on the case. Instantly, the pistons begin to perform the same poetic dance as in the Bugatti, similar to how the Chiron watches replicate that car’s W16.

An Even More Impressive Edition

Bugatti and Jacob & Co. first unveiled their latest collaboration in mid-2024, announcing that only 150 units would be produced, each costing approximately $340,000. As it turned out, that was just the beginning of their joint work. Perhaps considering the original matte black case too understated, Jacob & Co. has now introduced the new Baguette version.

This flagship model is crafted from 18-karat white gold and is set with 328 baguette-cut diamonds and 18 baguette-cut rubies, with a total diamond weight of 17 carats. The rubies, arranged along the base of the case, are positioned to recall the distinctive LED taillights of the 1,775 horsepower Bugatti hypercar, creating a visual link between the watch and the machine.

Miniature Engineering

Beyond the gemstones, the Tourbillon Baguette has serious horological credentials. Its mechanics include a 30-second double-speed flying tourbillon and a double power reserve. The crown design borrows elements from Bugatti’s controls, while the dials are styled after the car’s gauges.

“From the very beginning of our collaboration, Bugatti and Jacob & Co. have had the honor of directing our unique, world-leading skills into creating timepieces that stand the test of time,” said Bugatti CEO Wiebke Stahl. “Each one is a work of art to be admired for generations to come. Together, it is this mantle that the Bugatti Tourbillon and Bugatti Tourbillon Baguette watches now carry – and in the same spirit, Bugatti created the Tourbillon hypercar.”

The Pinnacle of Exclusivity

Only 18 units of the Baguette edition will be produced, and while the price is not disclosed, its rarity and craftsmanship suggest it will occupy the very top of the collection, likely entering seven-figure territory.

This product combines the technological achievements of the automotive industry with the art of high watchmaking, demonstrating how luxury brands can create unique items that cross industry boundaries. The limited production run makes it not just an accessory, but a collectible asset that can preserve or increase its value over time.
