Designer of McLaren Supercars Unveils Electric Car Project Inspired by the Mriya Plane

Max Shkinder, a Ukrainian working at the British company McLaren, presented a Ukrainian project for the creation of a luxury electric car. It was named KRAINA 225, where the number “225” points to the source of inspiration for the Ukrainian development team – namely the AN-225 Mriya plane.

“We have joined forces with other talented specialists from Ukraine, working abroad in automotive and IT companies, to show what collective intelligence is capable of,” writes Max on his Facebook page.

The ideology of KRAINA 225 was to unite as a group of like-minded individuals in an attempt to create a Ukrainian electric car with a competitive design that inspires the local industrial heritage, such as Antonov planes and the State Space Agency of Ukraine in Dnipro.

“The source of our inspiration was the mighty AN-225, called ‘Mriya’ by its creators, which means ‘Created by imagination, fantasy’. It has been an object of fascination for children and adults worldwide for the past few decades,” writes Max Shkinder.

According to the authors of the idea, this is a non-commercial, purely conceptual project aimed at research and experimentation.
