Available Hyundai minivans have become aggressive and now look formidable

Updated Hyundai Stargazer Cartenz and Cartenz X debut in Indonesia

The updated family minivan, the Hyundai Stargazer, debuted at an auto show in Indonesia. The model received a redesigned look, a more modern front end with revised LED headlights and a more massive radiator grille. The crossover version, the Cartenz X, differs with additional plastic wheel arch cladding and higher roof rails.

The interior features an updated dashboard with better screen integration, as well as more convenient climate control buttons. The top trim level offers options such as a ventilated driver’s seat, wireless charging, and a premium Bose sound system.

Technical Features

Under the hood remains the same 1.5-liter gasoline engine producing 113 hp, which is paired with a manual transmission or a CVT. The model’s platform is shared with other compact crossovers from Hyundai and Kia.

“This model is created for Indonesian families and professionals,” stated Hyundai.

Production of the new model is set up in Indonesia, but the car is also planned for export to other Southeast Asian countries. The price of the base version starts from $16,600, while the top Cartenz X trim costs over $24,000.

Despite the price increase compared to the previous generation, the updated Stargazer offers more standard equipment and improved design. This could make it a more attractive option in the budget family minivan segment, especially in markets where the price-to-functionality ratio is important.
