Fiat Dealerships Offer $15,000 Discounts on Slow-Selling 500e Model

Fiat’s Return to America Has Proved Unsuccessful

The return of the Fiat brand to the American market cannot be called triumphant, and over time the situation has only worsened. Once the brand offered a range of models, including the underrated 124 Spider roadster, but now only one electric vehicle remains in its lineup.

Sales of the 500e Electric Car Are Plummeting

Struggling for market share has always been difficult, but the situation deteriorated significantly after the cancellation of the federal tax credit for electric vehicles. Sales statistics for the first quarter look terrible: only 68 buyers chose the Fiat 500e. That’s less than one car per day and about 23 per month. The situation got to the point where this electric car sold worse than the 500X model, production of which was discontinued back in 2023.

Dealerships Are Offering Huge Discounts

Online searches show that dealers have over 100 units of the Fiat 500e in stock, which is approximately a five-month supply. In this regard, it is not surprising that significant discounts have appeared on 2024 and 2025 models. If you know where to look, you can find offers with savings of over $15,000.

The cheapest car appears to be a 2024 Fiat 500e INSPI(RED) at Southern Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram Fiat dealership in Virginia. The model, which originally cost $34,095, is now offered for $19,134. That’s a discount of $14,961.

Examples of Profitable Offers Across the Country

For those looking for a newer model, the Hawk Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat dealership in Illinois offers a 2025 Fiat 500e Armani Edition for $21,988. That’s $15,507 below the starting price of $37,495. These are far from the only examples. The Taverna Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat dealership in Florida also offers the Armani Edition with a $12,254 discount. It is also worth noting that Stellantis seems to be offering a national incentive program of $7,500 to compensate for the lack of a tax credit.

The Future of the Model and the Brand in the USA

It’s almost May, but Fiat still hasn’t introduced the 2026 500e model. This raises questions about the brand’s long-term plans for the American market. Such deep discounts can certainly attract the attention of individual buyers looking for a good deal on an urban electric vehicle, but they also vividly demonstrate problems with demand and strategy. The success of the electric model in Canada, where sales were significantly higher, suggests that the problem may lie not with the car itself, but with the marketing approach, pricing, or support infrastructure in a particular region. Such “fire sales” are often the last tool to clear out inventory before a possible model line update or, in the worst case, before a complete exit from the market.
