Ford GT is a unique and very rare car. Only 4,038 units were produced, and one of them was spotted in Kyiv today. The collectible supercar was being transported on a tow truck, but definitely not due to parking violations. Apparently, its owner decided to move it somewhere, and hopefully not out of the country.
The point is, this is not only the only Ford GT in Ukraine, but it is also one of the first truly exclusive and worthy supercars imported into our country. TopZhyr wrote about it back in 2010, although it actually crossed Ukraine’s border in 2006. In fact, since it was brought to Ukraine, its owner has hardly ever driven it.
The very first Ford GT from the open market (chassis No. 00010) was purchased at auction by one of Microsoft’s former top employees, John Shirley. Not only did John pay $557,000 for his specimen, but he also waited a whole year to receive it. The famous British presenter and car collector Jay Leno received a red GT a week later. Well, Ford GT in Midnight Blue Clearcoat Metallic was purchased with hard-earned money by the ‘godfather’ of TopZhyr, Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear.

The Ford GT was presented in the first half of the 2000s. This model was a sort of tribute to the legendary GT40 of the 60s, which, in turn, was made to beat Ferrari at the legendary 24-hour Le Mans race. The successor of the cult sports car was produced until 2007, but only a few of the released cars ended up in Europe. By the way, despite the fairly solid age of the model (almost 20 years), today it can be bought in Europe with difficulty for about a quarter of a million dollars. The price of the Ford GT in Ukraine is unknown. We think it will never be known, as the owner of this specimen clearly loves it very much if he rides it so rarely and protects it from prying eyes.
Remember, the characteristics of the Ford GT are worthy of supercars from such renowned manufacturers as Ferrari and Porsche. It has a 5.4-liter supercharged engine that develops 550 hp (torque – 680 Nm). The maximum speed is electronically limited to 330 km/h, and Ford GT accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds.
